Art for an online customer. Let’s get nerdy here for a minute: Do you think that changing Gandalf’s famous line from “You cannot pass” to “You shall not pass” altered the overall feel of the scene? I do.
In the book, Gandalf is basically just stating a fact: I’m more powerful than you. You will not be able to get past me. Movie Gandalf’s line sounds more like a challenge; along the lines of, “bring it, bi-atch.”
I like the former better.
